Our 2022 Advent Course explored what happened in the 400 year gap between the Old and New Testaments.

 

While the prophets of Israel may have been silent at this time, history tells us that this period was anything but quiet. Seismic shifts in world politics were not just shaping the cultures of the Ancient Near East, but redefining the sense of expectation Israel placed in its promised Messiah.

In Advent we rediscovered the stories of this era, to help us better understand the context into which Jesus was born, and how the politics of our own day shape our sense of anticipation for Christ's return.
